Bad Boy Problems

For decades people have whispered that Seam Combs was a villain. It wasn’t until 2024 that things started to go down for him. Since the 90’s he has been very close to murders, assaults, blackmail, and the like. However, nothing ever seemed to stain those fur coats. Enter Damian Williams, a US attorney. Williams has successfully pushed through an Indictment for Sean Combs and many of his aliases for conspiracy to commit racketeering.

Racketeering is a complicated almost catch-all law that was created in the 1970’s but the idea can be traced all the way back to the 1920’s. Basically it’s mob activity. When you are good at doing bad things, it can be very difficult to get found guilty in a court of law for single incidents. The government fighting the different mobs and gangsters across the United States figured it would be easier to create an umbrella that can hold these types of people accountable.

What falls under racketeering or the RICO charges can vary but there are some consistencies. There must be an enterprise, meaning an individual or group of individuals. This even extends to legal entities such as partnerships, corps, etc. Then you need to do some actions. The actions require “two or more incidents of a racketeering type that have same or similar intents, results, accomplices, victims or methods of commission or otherwise are interrelated by distinguishing characteristics, including a nexus to the same enterprise, and are not isolated incidents, provided at least one of such incidents occurred after November 1, 1981, and that the last of such incidents occurred within five years after a prior incident of racketeering activity.”

With the Diddy charges it is almost two laws combined into one. Above was racketeering but he is charged with conspiracy to commit racketeering. That’s a little different. To break that down it can be as simple as working with three or more people and planning to commit a crime that would fall under racketeering, but they don’t actually have to follow through. For conspiracy only a step towards the underline crime needs to be done. It can even be done without the other person's knowledge. One of Diddy’s underline charges is arson. So, for conspiracy Diddy and his enterprise plan to blow up kid Kudi’s car at a future date. Diddy leaves to handle some Bad Boy business. While he is gone and without his knowledge his goons start making and packing up some Molotov cocktails. They have passed the threshold and have entered conspiracy to commit arson. Add an intent to the arson, such as, blowing the car up to get Kid Cudi to act in a certain manner or scare him into acquiescing, now they have committed conspiracy to commit racketeering via arson.

Diddy is facing several counts that all relate to the racketeering indictment which means he could face life in prison if found guilty. US Attorney Williams is playing a public game of trying to paint Diddy as a pervert and degenerate even before the start of the trial. It may help Diddy or it may hurt him. At this point Diddy would require a jury from under a rock to have a chance at finding someone that doesn’t know about the “Freak-Offs”. We have yet to see others get named. So, we will wait to see who all was in the enterprises. But I will keep everyone updated on the case as it unfolds.
